Partners

Our Partners

The Sustainable Production and Consumption Initiative works through a powerful ecosystem of partnerships β€” spanning civil society, the private sector, government, and the global Fairtrade movement. These partnerships amplify the project's impact and ensure alignment with national and global standards.

Fairtrade India

Fairtrade India is the national node of Fairtrade International, the world's most recognised fair trade certification system. Operating in India since 2014, Fairtrade India works with producer organisations, businesses, and educational institutions to advance fair trade practices.

Role in the SPC Project

Fairtrade India is a core partner, providing:

  • Certification Standards β€” the official criteria for Fairtrade School and University designation
  • Educational Resources β€” curriculum materials, awareness campaigns, and training content
  • Global Network Access β€” connecting Indian institutions to the worldwide Fairtrade Schools community
  • Fairtrade India Schools Programme β€” formal pathway to school designation
  • Brand and Recognition β€” the internationally recognised Fairtrade mark

About Fairtrade International

Fairtrade International sets standards for trading conditions, ensures that farmers and workers in developing countries receive a fair price, and promotes environmentally sustainable practices. Over 1.9 million farmers and workers in 73 countries benefit from the Fairtrade system.
